Phipps Conservancy is close by and offers exhibits year round.  The University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University also have libraries and other cultural exhibits.  Soldiers and Sailors Hall, The Nationality Rooms and Heinz Chapel are interesting places to visit while in the Oakland area.
